About the Role

Beekeepers Naturals is looking for a driven and adaptable Director of Retail Sales to join our Sales Team. We're seeking a strategic and results-driven leader to spearhead our sales efforts and drive growth for one of the fastest growing better-for-you wellness brands in the CPG space. As Director of Retail Sales, you'll be instrumental in developing and executing sales strategies, cultivating key customer relationships, and leading a high-performing sales team to success.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of relevant experience with a proven track record in sales leadership, preferably within the wellness or CPG industry. You'll need to excel in building and managing a sales pipeline, analyzing market trends, and driving revenue growth. Experience in developing and implementing sales processes, along with strong negotiation and communication skills, are essential.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing key US accounts across the Food, Drug & Mass channels (CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and Sam's Club).
  • Strategic alignment and development of the overall channel strategies with both the sales team and the overall leadership team.
  • Establishing and building strong relationships with existing national retailers (both corporate leadership and field-based management), distributors and prospective retail outlets nationally and throughout your region.
  • Aid in the negotiation of contracts with key accounts, understanding key account needs/requirements.
  • Accountability of Channel P&L management and trade budget.
  • Provide detailed and accurate revenue forecasting, demand planning, and distribution mapping.
  • Evaluating sales promotional/trade spending and effectively tracking ROI.
  • Expand relationships with existing accounts through continuously proposing solutions that align with their objectives.
  • Providing leadership, direction and support to a team of entry level sales associates and field-based brand advocates.
  • Guide direct reports in managing customer/distributor expectations.
  • Collaborating with senior executives to establish sales goals for the region through market analysis, creation of a strategic 90-day plan and fearless execution.
  • Contribute to a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Create weekly and monthly internal reports with sales and financial data.
  • Exceeding monthly sales goals and achieving quarterly Key Performance Metrics.
  • Monitor customer, market and competitor activity and provide feedback to the company leadership team and other company functions.
  • Planning and attending trade shows, trade events, exhibitions, conferences and major sales events.
  • Working closely with retail marketing developing retailer-specific support and launch plans.
  • Additional responsibilities include forecast analysis, promotional execution, effective communication of SOP's, and strong category management analysis to further support and grow distribution optimization.
  • Embodying the “Beekeeper’s Naturals DNA” by championing the Beekeeper’s Naturals brand and contributing to a successful and inspiring team culture that encourages personal and professional growth.
  • Accountabilities: Achieve both organization and assigned regional and channel objectives for sales, profits, volume and other strategic goals.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive sales experience, preferably in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) or wellness space (or related fields).
  • Experience working with retailers such as CVS, Walgreens, Walmart, and Sam's Club would be beneficial.
  • Proven track record of successful leadership and management of sales teams.
  • In-depth understanding of the wellness industry, including market trends, competitive landscape, and consumer preferences preferred.
  • Experience managing key accounts, with a focus on building strong relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in negotiating contracts, pricing agreements, and promotional programs.
  • Ability to provide detailed revenue forecasting, demand planning, and distribution mapping.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate data effectively.
  • Have demonstrated, strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Netsuite, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, start-up environment.
  • Self-motivated and comfortable taking initiative with minimal direction.
  • Extremely well-organized, able to prioritize multiple ongoing tasks.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to attend trade shows, exhibitions etc.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote environment as this role will require working from home.
