Cue Health Inc. seeking to hire a full-time Controls Engineering Technician. This position is designed to enhance our automation and manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities:

General:

  • Ability to design, develop, troubleshoot and supervise all aspects of electrical control systems and equipment used in our automated manufacturing systems.

  • Provide timely and detailed status updates

  • Assist in process development activities as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Electrical:

  • Understand electrical designs, schematics and drawings for automation control systems

  • Work with mechanical engineers to assist with electrical requirements for new systems

  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical system issues

Software:

  • Support software applications for automated systems including:

    • Robotics

    • PLC

    • Pneumatics

    • Servo Motors

    • HMI devices

    • Vision Systems

Requirements:

  • Education - a bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical or controls engineering or 2-4 years of experience

  • 2 years minimum experience in the field or in a related area

  • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within this field

  • Knowledge base in the use of industrial automation devices (i.e. sensors, switches, load cells, cylinders, valves, motors, encoders, etc.)

  • General mechanical aptitude

  • Must be capable of taking direction and following through with assigned tasks

  • Practical skills in troubleshooting and general problem-solving

  • Ability to work well cross-functionally and in a team environment

  • Prior industry knowledge and the ability to adapt quickly to changing environments

  • Travel Required: 20% of the time, travel between Vista work location and Sorrento Valley work location.

Environment and Physical Activities/Requirements:

  • You will work in an indoor manufacturing environment, which may occasionally be noisy, subject to climate and humidity requirements, and hazardous substances. This position requires the following physical activities and/or requirements:

    • Remaining in a stationary or sedentary position, often standing and/or sitting for prolonged periods of time

    • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another, including possibly tight or confined spaces

    • Reaching, crouching, or stooping

    • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers

    • Adjusting, moving, carrying, lifting, pushing or pulling objects up to 50 pounds

    • Operating machinery, power tools, motor vehicles, and/or heavy equipment

    • Ascending or descending ramps, ladders and/or stairs

    • Communicating with others to exchange information

    • Visual acuity, including peripheral vision

The estimated base compensation range for this role is shown below. This range is based upon current market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay will be determined in accordance with a candidate's location, skills, expertise, background, experience, and other relevant factors. $20.91 - $34.86
