What You Will Do: We are seeking a curious, imaginative, and forward-thinking Creative Director to lead the visual and creative strategy of our innovative frozen novelty brand. The Creative Director will be key in visualizing groundbreaking products, crafting captivating consumer-first packaging, and producing compelling creative assets to support marketing and sales channels. Their visionary leadership will shape the brand's aesthetic direction, ensuring it resonates with target consumers and deepens our brand's value proposition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Brand Strategy: Act as a strategic thought partner, collaborating with cross-functional leaders to refine and enhance the brand strategy, ensuring it reflects the company’s vision, product quality, and consistently surprises and delights consumers. Translate the brand strategy into execution across the organization.
- Innovative Visualization: Lead the conceptualization of innovative product ideas, turning strategic concepts into tangible designs that convey our brand's value proposition, differentiators, and appeal to retail customers and consumers. Utilize technology, including 3D printing and AI, to accelerate concept visualization.
- Packaging Design: Develop and oversee the design strategy and production of highly engaging packaging that reflects the brand's ethos and resonates with consumers. Ensure product lines and extensions maximize the brand's impact and provide the consistency and quality consumers expect.
- Creative Asset Production: Generate creative assets needed across marketing and sales channels, or manage agency work to deliver on brand messaging. This includes digital, social media, print, in-store/POS, OOH, and more.
- Team Leadership: Manage and inspire a team of creative professionals, balancing internal hires and agency support, while fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and excellence.
- Project Management: Oversee multiple projects from conception through execution, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of creativity and innovation.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment.
- A natural curiosity, with an appreciation for ambiguity and the ability to embrace a “test and learn” mentality for continuous improvement.
- High proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other relevant software.
- A minimum of 7+ years of experience in design, with a proven track record of innovative thinking and strategic projects.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership or management role, with a demonstrated ability to mentor, inspire, and lead a creative team.
- Strategic thinking skills with the ability to integrate creative vision with broader business objectives.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguous projects through effective collaboration.
- A genuine passion for creativity, consumers, and innovation, with a keen interest in food and beverage trends.
