An exciting, high-growth food brand is looking for a Director of R&D to join their team to lead innovation and the development of the R&D team

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Senior-level, experienced R&D professional with a background in food science
• Dairy experience a plus
• “Player-coach” mentality
• Strong understanding of the food industry landscape with a commercial eye
• Strong business acumen and understanding of manufacturing
• Ability to communicate and work closely with third-party vendors/manufacturers as well as internal manufacturing
• Demonstrated ability to bring innovative ideas to the table and see them through to commercialization

Scope of Role:

• Lead and develop a team
• About 70% strategic, 30% hands-on
• Lead innovation from ideation through commercialization
• Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, operations, and external partners
• Ensure quality, clean label, and cost-effectiveness across existing and new products
• Stay on top of market trends and emerging technology
