About the company:

Our client, a family-owned and operated business based in England, this company is now one of the fastest-growing formula brands in the USA. For over 60 years, the family has been dedicated to raising the standard of infant formula. Today, the brand’s products are available on the shelves of major retailers across the US, including Target, Walmart, Kroger, and Safeway Albertsons.

The role: To be responsible for monthly reporting, tax, audit and commercial position of the US business. This role reports to the CEO, with the Group Financial Controller as a key contact.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for ensuring the company has the appropriate internal and financial controls to ensure GAAP compliance; formalize the close process, AP/AR, and other accounting processes as needed.
  • Full P&L responsibility; responsible for balance sheet, annual budget and forecasting, close processes, cash flow management, and customer invoicing.
  • Manage external audit and tax partners, preparing documentation as needed, and ensuring all taxes are reported, filed, and paid.
  • Oversee customer invoicing and retailer deductions.
  • Work alongside the Strategic Finance Director to produce cash reporting and forecasting
  • Work alongside the Head of North America to ensure financial considerations are covered in Contract reviews (suppliers and customers).
  • Build out the US accounting team to support company growth.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. CPA is a plus.
  • 10+ years of accounting and finance experience in consumer goods.
  • Proven experience building a finance/accounting function from the ground up.
  • Strong understanding of US regulations, GAAP compliance, and tax filing.
  • Experience using financial software, Quickbooks ideally
  • Advanced MS Excel skills
  • Experience building and managing high-performing teams.
  • Highly analytical and detail-oriented; advanced Excel and Quickbooks experience.
  • Comfortable being an individual contributor while setting up the US accounting function.
