Our client, a high-growth food brand, is seeking a passionate Sr. Manager, Innovation + Channel Marketing.
Position Overview: We are looking for a dynamic and data-driven Senior Manager of Innovation & Channel Marketing to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and executing innovative strategies to drive growth across key retail channels (Club, Grocery, Natural) by leveraging data insights and market trends. You will lead the charge in identifying opportunities for channel optimization, innovative pricing, and packaging strategies, ensuring products are positioned for maximum impact and consumer appeal across multiple touchpoints. Your expertise in innovation, channel strategy, and data analytics will be essential to shaping our brand’s future in an ever-evolving marketplace.
Key Responsibilities:
Innovation Strategy:
- Lead the identification, development, and execution of new product innovations, packaging, and pricing strategies to align with evolving consumer trends and market demands.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, marketing, and product development to launch and scale innovative products and solutions.
- Partner with marketing and brand teams to ensure new innovations align with brand vision and consumer expectations.
- Use consumer insights, competitive analysis, and market research to drive innovation strategies that deliver business growth.
Channel Strategy:
- Develop and implement channel-specific strategies to drive product availability, visibility, and sales across key retail and distribution channels, including Club, Grocery, + Natural channels.
- Analyze and optimize channel performance through data-driven insights to ensure product positioning maximizes reach and profitability.
- Work closely with the sales teams to design channel-specific pricing and promotional strategies that align with overall business objectives.
- Develop and refine channel strategy, ensuring it remains adaptive to shifts in consumer behavior and retail trends.
Data & Analytics Leadership:
- Leverage data analytics to inform and drive decision-making across innovation and channel strategy, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Analyze market and consumer data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement in both channel and innovation efforts.
- Utilize advanced data modeling and analysis to optimize price pack architecture and ensure competitiveness across various channels.
- Build and maintain key dashboards and performance metrics to measure the success of innovation and channel strategies, ensuring constant improvement.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with finance, supply chain, and sales teams to ensure alignment between innovation strategies, pricing, packaging, and product availability.
- Work closely with external partners and retailers to understand customer needs, negotiate strategies, and drive impactful channel execution.
- Serve as a thought leader, influencing and guiding cross-functional teams on best practices for channel strategy, innovation, and data utilization.
Leadership & Team Development:
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of analysts and strategists, fostering a collaborative, innovative, and high-performance work environment.
- Lead cross-functional projects and initiatives, ensuring timely execution and alignment with organizational goals.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Data Science, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in channel strategy, innovation management, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 2-3 years of experience in a leadership role.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis with Nielsen, SPINS, + IRI and tools such as Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or SQL.
- Experience with analytics platforms, consumer insights tools, and CRM systems.
- Strong knowledge of pricing strategies, price pack architecture, and promotional tactics.
- Leadership: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving business transformation through innovation and strategy.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to think both strategically and tactically, balancing long-term innovation goals with short-term business objectives.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills and a data-driven approach to solving complex business challenges.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and drive change in an evolving marketplace.
