Position: Finance & Accounting Manager

Our client, a fast-growing beverage company, is seeking a Finance/Accounting Manager to join their team in Los Angeles. This is a hybrid role with in-office expectations three days per week and the opportunity to work alongside a passionate, mission-driven team.

About the Role

The Finance/Accounting Manager will be responsible for leading general accounting operations, supervising a small team, managing trade spend, and supporting financial reporting and analysis. This is a critical hire for a growing company seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative finance leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead general ledger and full-cycle accounting activities, including journal entry preparation and review
  • Oversee the month-end close process, working closely with AR and AP staff
  • Supervise and support two direct reports, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in transactional processes
  • Manage and analyze trade spend and key financial investments
  • Take ownership of vendor and customer reconciliations; train staff on proper procedures
  • Maintain schedules for prepaid expenses, accruals, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external partners to ensure timely and accurate financial transactions
  • Participate in cross-training efforts to enhance team flexibility and support
  • Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5–7+ years of relevant accounting/finance experience
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
  • Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, IF statements)
  • Strong communication and organizational abilities
  • Prior experience in the food, beverage, or broader consumer products industry strongly preferred
  • Must reside in the Los Angeles area and be able to work onsite three days a week
