Accounts Payable Manager
Location: Bayonne, NJ (On-site, Monday–Friday)
A well-established beverage company in Bayonne, NJ, is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to lead our client's AP operations. This full-time, on-site role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with a strong background in accounts payable and team leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
- Supervise and mentor the AP team, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment
- Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the AP function
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement and finance, to resolve discrepancies and streamline operations
- Manage vendor relationships, addressing inquiries and resolving payment issues promptly
- Prepare and analyze accounts payable reports, providing insights to support financial decision-making
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and accruals
- Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
- Proficiency in accounting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks)
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with implementing internal controls and process improvements
- Familiarity with relevant taxation regulations and compliance requirements, including 1099 forms
