Our client is looking for a seasoned Fabrication Director to lead their fabrication department and bring high-level scenic visions to life. This is a hands-on leadership role overseeing every aspect of fabrication—from creative concepting and estimating through production and install. You’ll manage full-time staff, coordinate with 100+ contractors, and keep the department financially sound while delivering exceptional quality under tight timelines.

This is not a desk job. You’ll be in the field, in the shop, on-site—wherever the action is. You’ll collaborate directly with our leadership team and clients, and have a seat at the table shaping the company's future.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead the fabrication department and team: project managers, carpenters, fabricators, installers, drafters, and more
• Own the full lifecycle of fabrication projects: sourcing, estimating, design collaboration, execution, install, and teardown
• Source materials, build crews, and translate creative concepts into executable builds
• Collaborate across creative, production, and client teams to solve complex build challenges
• Oversee production schedules, staffing plans, budgeting, and invoicing
• Ensure the financial health and operational efficiency of the department
• Travel frequently to events and installs nationwide
• Help pitch new business and contribute to proposals and decks
• Represent the company with a high degree of professionalism, integrity, and creative problem-solving

Who You Are:

• 10+ years of scenic or experiential fabrication experience, ideally with 3+ years in a senior leadership role
• Proven track record running fabrication teams, warehouses, and large-scale event builds
• Skilled in drafting, design translation, materials sourcing, and build strategy (bonus if you can draft yourself)
• Financially literate—you can own budgets, estimates, P&L, and invoicing with confidence
• A collaborative, humble leader who knows how to build and motivate teams
• Comfortable with fast-paced environments, overnight work, and moving targets
• Equally strong in shop, office, and on-site settings
• Based in Miami/Palm Beach, Florida (strongly preferred), or LA with flexibility to travel frequently
• Portfolio and/or work samples required
