Position Summary
The Manager of Engineering is responsible for leading and overseeing the implementation of new equipment, technologies, and automation systems to enhance manufacturing capabilities and efficiencies.
Essential Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the manufacturing engineering team, providing guidance, mentoring, and training to ensure the team's success and professional growth
- Develop and implement manufacturing processes and procedures to optimize production efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including design engineering, production, and quality assurance, to develop and implement new products or processes.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing principles to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve overall operational performance.
- Monitor and analyze production data and metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards to maintain a safe and environmentally friendly work environment.
- Collaborate with suppliers and vendors to source and evaluate new technologies, materials, and equipment to improve manufacturing processes and reduce costs.
- Provide technical support and guidance to resolve complex manufacturing issues, troubleshoot problems, and optimize production output.
- Implement industry standard process control techniques such as six sigma techniques to manage and develop production efficiencies and quality.
- Leads project management activities including acting as a point of contact for vendors.
- Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations; identify and communicates workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions; participate in safety committee activities.
- Meets all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements; participate in food safety meetings as required.
Required Qualifications:
- B.S. in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering (or related engineering degree).
- Proven experience in manufacturing engineering, with a minimum of 5 years in a managerial role.
- Demonstrated experience in process improvement, lean manufacturing, and project management.
- Experience with continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience in building a culture of quality.
- Knowledge of statistics and using software to drive data analysis.
- Exceptional communication abilities, capable of fostering strong internal and external relationships.
- Cultivate and promote a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions; participate in safety committee activities.
- Meet all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements; verify they are being practiced by the QC team; lead and/or participate in food safety meetings.

Travel: This position requires up to 5% of travel to customers or conferences.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work: This is a regular, full-time position with daily hours on site. The ability to be available for work daily and extended hours as necessary.
