The Farmer’s Dog is the fastest growing pet health service company in the US, and was born from a mission to change the landscape of pet health, providing dogs and their humans with honest, smart, and simple care – a fresh proposition in an industry riddled with manipulative and misleading marketing. We’re starting by radically improving the $100 billion pet food market, replacing bulk bags of highly-processed pellets with a personalized subscription service that sends healthy, freshly-made dog food, balanced by top veterinary nutritionists, directly to customers’ doors. Our ultimate goal is to create innovative, honest, and delightful experiences across all aspects of pet care, and we believe our direct-to-consumer business model, holistic approach to growth, and dynamic and forward-thinking culture uniquely position us to shepherd this backwards industry into the future.
To date, The Farmer’s Dog has delivered hundreds of millions of meals nationwide and raised over $150M in funding to help us build a company as healthy as the dogs who are eating those meals. Join us as we continue to develop ways of bringing peace of mind to our customers, health to their companions, and much-needed change to the way people feed and care for their pets.

Where You'll Come In
We’re looking for an IT Systems Administrator—reporting to the Manager of IT—to help grow our internal IT function and keep our technology running smoothly. Your job will be to assist the team with their IT needs, including actioning help desk tickets and collaborating on longer-term projects and initiatives.
In this role, you will work with employees across the organization to remediate technology problems that arise every day. You will also play a key role in helping TFD scale our technology as the organization grows.
How You'll Make An Impact
- You’ll help action tickets, as well as maintain, deploy, and secure TFD’s technology, allowing us to continue serving fresh meals to dogs all over the country.
- You will build and maintain close relationships with leaders and end-users to ensure all technology needs are being met. By understanding their current and future requirements, you’ll collaborate with the wider IT & Cybersecurity group to help drive change through planning and deploying complete hardware and software solutions.
- You’ll partner with Talent Acquisition to support new-hire onboarding, including ensuring new hires have all the equipment and software access vital to start work on day one.
- You’ll assess, plan for, and execute scheduled macOS and Windows patches and application updates across the organization’s infrastructure.
- Using your strong written language skills, you’ll create technical documentation for IT procedures and configurations — for use by both technical and non-technical audiences.
- IT tasks can be unplanned and urgent — you’ll troubleshoot and set up various hardware, printer, application, and networking devices as needs arise.
- You’ll be the primary on-site IT contact for the Nashville office, supporting in-office needs with the support of the rest of the IT function.
We're Excited About You Because
- You have experience managing and administering SaaS and cloud applications at a large scale, including Google Workspace and Identity solutions such as Okta.
- Experience with Windows and macOS operating systems, virtual desktops, printers, and iOS devices.
- Experience using help desk ticketing systems (such as Jira, Zendesk, or HappyFox) to track and prioritize tickets.
- Experience managing and/or deploying office networking systems such as Ubiquiti.
- You are self-driven, and exceptionally detail and process-focused.
- You’re able to manage your own projects and follow up without close supervision.
- You maintain strong, professional written and verbal communication skills. You will be required to attend meetings with other highly technical and general audiences and must be able to discuss plans, concepts, and strategy/approach in a clear and unambiguous manner.
- Experience with automating on/offboarding tasks and working with Google Cloud Platform and AWS administration (a plus!).
- Familiarly with live presentation technology, and designing presentation experiences for both local and remote attendees (a plus!).
- You live in Nashville and are excited about working several days each week in our dog-friendly Nashville office.
- You are able to work Sunday - Thursday, 9:00 am - 6:00 pm.
- You want to work with fellow dog-lovers who share a common interest in getting fresh food into dog bowls nationwide.
Our DEI Philosophy:
Our company’s mission is rooted in deep, genuine care for dogs – and for the people who love them. As an organization we are full of individuals who are unique in many ways, but all united in a mission of providing true peace of mind to dog lovers everywhere. Fixing this industry and improving the lives of pets and their people will be a difficult, decades-long endeavor. We believe the best use of our time, energy, and resources as a collective team is to focus on this mission, and on supporting our team to do their best work and be their best selves. In support of this we’re committed to hiring and supporting a diverse workforce, and investing in internal structures, opportunities, hiring/promotions processes, and training that create and sustain an inclusive team. We strive to provide an experience at TFD that will be invested, meaningful and memorable as we progress on the journey to reimagine how we feed and care for our pets.
